The sanctuary at Lighthouse Worship Center is equipped with a T-Loop system. The system helps people with mild to profound hearing loss hear the sermon and other important audio from the service.
People wearing hearing aids experience difficulty distinguishing sounds and have to concentrate much harder than hearing individuals to pick up the signals they need to hear. Hard of hearing people are able to hear specific sounds by switching their hearing aids to the “T” position, which tunes them in to the signals transmitted by the T-Loop. The T-Loop, which consists of a wire transmitter underneath the carpet, was installed around the center left section of the sanctuary, making the T-Loop signal available in nearly half the sanctuary. The T-Loop can be used by anyone with a hearing aid that has a “T” switch.
Lighthouse Worship Center has sign language interpretation in the 10am Sunday morning services, and a signing class, Deaf Action & Company, that meets each Sunday morning at nine. The Deaf Action & Company is a group of hearing impaired and hearing individuals at Lighthouse Worship Center that welcomes the important but often overlooked community and culture of people with hearing loss.
